Why we work in black and white

Monochrome is not a filter applied because we forgot colour—it is how we reduce competing hues so composition and emotion lead. In Oman’s strong sun, colour files can fight for attention; greyscale keeps skin, fabric, and architecture in one family.
For clients, the practical benefit is cohesive archives: a ten-year portfolio that still feels unified. For press and annual reports, B&W reads as authoritative rather than decorative.
We shoot in colour RAW and convert with calibrated profiles so highlight roll-off stays natural. If a project truly needs colour—product launches with strict Pantone—we quote a separate colour pipeline. Default remains monochrome because it is the studio’s language.
When you brief us, describe mood in words, not Instagram presets. ‘Quiet, archival, respectful’ tells us more than a hashtag.
